The group covers six counties formed out of Bedford County as follows:
Bedford County formed from Cumberland County in 1771.
Westmoreland County formed from Bedford County in 1775.
Huntingdon County formed from Bedford County 1787.
Somerset County formed from Bedford County in 1795.
Blair County formed from Bedford & Huntingdon Counties in 1846.
Fulton County formed from Bedford County townships in 1850.
My paternal ancestors were amongst the founding families in these counties and I have literally been researching this area for nearly 50 years!
